After playing the Megadrive version of Theme park, I promised myself I would never go near that game again. And then I saw the Saturn version, and I was hooked. This game shouldn’t cost too much to buy I got it unboxed for 50p but I have seen it for around £2 - £5
Theme park puts you in charge of your own theme park, it is your job to improve and attract customers. The game challenges you to create theme parks in many different countries from the UK to Iceland. There are a number of rides to put in place including Roller coasters, bouncy castles and mazes. There are even shops and amusements.

The graphics are simple, but this gives the game a sense of simplicity. That makes you want to keep playing, the short animations of some rides adds to the excitement of owning your own Theme Park. Although occasionally the poor graphics lead to confusion, at where you can place rides and shops.
The only problem I had with the game are the poor controls, it took me along time to work out how to invest in new rides etc, and to delete rides. Once you have figured the controls out, the game is extremely fun.

Overall the game is fun and once you start playing, you loose track of time.. Theme Park gives you a strange sense of achievement. The ability to see people walk around your park with smiley faces, in there mind bubbles, only adds to this. But the controls can be hard to work out, and it can be frustrating to see your park slip from being at the top to the bottom without knowing what to do

Breakdown

Gameplay:

7/10

Great fun, just like any simulation game, But playable on the Saturn, there is also a save feature and not a password system.

Graphics:

6/10

Not the best graphics, but the simplicity adds to the atmosphere of the game.

Sound:

3/10

Not great, sometimes there is no sound at all, when you are close to a ride the music changes to generic fair ground music. Making the soundtrack somewhat annoying.

Longetivety:

6/10

Once you create you park, you become reluctant to sell it, after all the hard work that has been put in. But its always fun to start again and change the layout.

Originality:

9/10

One of the early simulation games, Theme park is still the best fairground sim, and this version is no exception.

Overall:

 7/10
